I see the BMC elections as one of the most important democratic exercises in the country. These polls qill decide who will be running BMC Mumbai. This Civic body is responsible for roads, water supply, sanitation, health services, education, and urban planning Mumbai Metropolitan region. With 227 municipal wards and more than one crore eligible voters, the Mumbai elections shapes the daily life of Mumbaikars in the city.
Voting is simple once you understand the process. First step you should do is check your name in voter list.
A Voter ID alone is not enough; your name must appear in the roll. You could verify your registration online by clicking on this link.
On polling day, visit your assigned booth during official hours.
Verify your identity at the counter, get your finger inked.
Cast your vote on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). VVPAT screen will briefly display your selected candidate so that you can confirm your vote. Polling staff will be available at every booth to guide voters, maintain secrecy of the ballot, and ensure smooth voting.

For these upcoming Mumbai elections, there are 1,03,44,315 registered voters across 227 wards. Election Commission will be deploying officers, polling supervisors and staff members to manage the entire process from registration to counting.
At the polling booth, acceptable IDs include a Voter ID card, Aadhaar, Passport, Driving License, PAN card, government service ID, pension passbook, MNREGA job card, or MP/MLA identity cards. Photo voter slips alone will not count as valid ID.
