Historic Win for RCB as They Break CSK’s Chennai Fortress in IPL 2025

In a match that will go down in IPL history, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) shattered a 17-year-old jinx by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their fortress—the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The 50-run victory in Match 8 of IPL 2025 marked RCB’s first-ever win against CSK in Chennai since the league’s inception in 2008.

A Night of Celebration for RCB

The triumph sparked wild celebrations in the RCB camp. Virat Kohli, usually a picture of intensity on the field, was seen letting loose in the dressing room, grooving to *Humankind’s* “Run It Up.” The former India captain’s joy was evident as he danced alongside teammates, including Lungi Ngidi, Liam Livingstone, and Phil Salt.

The party didn’t stop there—even after returning to the hotel, the team continued their celebrations, with Kohli leading the dance moves once again. RCB’s official Instagram handle shared the viral video with the caption: *”A win so special, it got King Kohli grooving. This team! The vibes! We’re loving it.”*

Patidar, Salt Power RCB to Competitive Total

Batting first, RCB posted 196/7 in their 20 overs, thanks to crucial contributions from Rajat Patidar (51 off 32), Phil Salt (32 off 16), and Tim David (22 off 8). While Virat Kohli struggled to find his rhythm—scoring 31 off 30 balls—a late six and four off Matheesha Pathirana added some respectability to his innings.

Bowlers Seal the Deal in Style

Defending the total, RCB’s bowlers dismantled CSK’s chase early. Josh Hazlewood struck twice in the second over, removing Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone chipped in with two wickets each, restricting CSK to 146/8 and securing a convincing win.

What This Win Means for RCB

This victory not only ends RCB’s long-standing struggle against CSK in Chennai but also propels them to the top of the IPL 2025 standings. With momentum on their side, Faf du Plessis’ men will look to carry this confidence into their upcoming fixtures.

For CSK, the loss raises questions about their home dominance, while RCB fans can finally rejoice—their team has conquered one of the toughest challenges in the IPL.

Will this win mark a turning point for RCB’s season? Stay tuned for more updates!
